Family Law in Maryland: Your Essential Toolkit Kick Off Party

Back by popular demand, and under the leadership of Nakia Gray, Esq., CLS is re-launching its mentorship program for CLS volunteer attorneys including updating our original training manual.
CLS’s Pro Bono Family Law Clinic was previously a collaboration with Barbara Jorgenson, Esq. from Joseph, Greenwald & Laake, P.A. Nakia Gray was an active participant in our clinic and was mentored by Barbara. Nakia later joined Barbara’s firm, which resulted in a very successful career in family law. In 2012, Barbara and Nakia created a training manual, How to Handle a Family Law Case from Start to Finish, complete with instructions, forms, and sample pleadings which has been used by CLS volunteer attorneys over the years. This successful guide has been updated with current laws, including the mutual consent grounds for divorce, limited scope representation, same-sex divorce and more.
Nakia eventually became a mentor and coordinator for the Clinic until 2015. CLS and Nakia have partnered again to bring back this popular program. The re-launch party will be held at Gray Legal, P.C., 9701 Apollo Drive, Largo, MD 20770. Refreshments will be served.

CLS requests participants of the Family Law Mentoring Clinic to take at least 2 CLS cases in a year. The Clinic roundtable will provide time to discuss CLS cases as well as the attorney’s private cases.
